I thought you might like to hear of my experience of my Cultivar greenhouse during the heatwave. The challenge is to keep the temperature at not more than 30C. I achieved this most of the time, but once the outside temperature reached 35.5 I had to admit a temporary defeat. The automatic vents have been a boon. I used your shades, of course, and added a triangle of fleece outside the western gable end. I left the door open for much of the time, kept evaporation trays under the staging full of water, kept capillary mats moist on the staging, and dampened down the floor. The tomatoes have survived unscathed. The bell peppers have lost a bit of firmness, but will recover. I haven’t de-leafed the tomatoes as much as would normally be desirable, reckoning that the more transpiration from them the better. Tomato variety is Queen of St Marthe.
Best wishes
